Ilaamen Pelshaw
Ilaamen is a visual artist born in Guatemala and based in Omaha NE; she creates art that is colorful, warm & happy as a celebration of her heritage. With a background in graphic design & illustration, her art has a distinctive, figurative, graphic line, focusing on storytelling.
Has participated in 40+ group exhibits in Omaha, Lincoln, Sioux City, LA, Santa Monica and San Diego, Portland and 3 local solo shows. Her art can be found in private collections around Europe, Asia, Africa, & The Americas.
· Selected as the Omaha Summer Arts Festival Featured Illustrator for 2 years.
· One of the winners of the 7th edition of Latin American Illustration by AI/AP.
· Selected artist for the United States Department of State’s Art in Embassies program, with the piece “United We Live” being displayed at the US Ambassador’s residence in Kampala, Uganda.
· Featured in SINGULART Magazine from Paris, as One of 7 Illustrators to Watch.
· Has art permanently displayed in the Omaha Public Library.
