Naomi Devil

I started my career as an artist at an early age, my first exhibition took place in Budapest at the age of 16. As a private student, I graduated early and then applied to the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna to study painting, where I was accepted at the age of 17 in the class of Adi Rosenblum and Markus Muntean. I graduated in 2008, but also started to study architecture (TU Wien) in 2006, which I left without a diploma four years later. I graduated with a second degree in Applied Graphic Design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna in 2015.
To this day, I consider it important to develop not only in the field of painting, but also to include design, architecture and digital art in my work. I incorporate my skills and experience in these fields into my painting. I consider it important to develop technical skills alongside contemporary expression. I create longer series of paintings that emerge from some kind of thought or technical innovation. I am interested in the dialogue between different artistic and historical periods. Not only do I enrich my arsenal of expressive tools by studying the technical skills of great predecessors, but I also seek to understand the spirit with which they created. My aim is to synthesise and develop the different conceptions of art of bygone eras, and to formulate what the concept of art means in the 21st century.
Besides my studies, I have been constantly working on building my career, participating in many solo and group exhibitions in 12 countries and 6 capitals during my 16 years of career. As a registered private entrepreneur in Hungary, I am an active member of the art scene. My works are sold by auction houses and galleries in Vienna and Budapest.
